this is a decoration on an old house in a little village in south tirol. i took a picture because i like it, and because it tingles some sort of ancient memory in me, but only i can´t pinpoint what it reminds me of. i would like to understand what the faded letters carved in between the two round windows say and mean.

any ideas of what this decoration is?
